Susan’s career path took shape amidst her pursuit of creativity and social impact. Her first job at Elizabeth Eaton, an Interior Design company in London, provided a foundation for her artistic aspirations. As a self-taught artist, she recognized the importance of aligning her career with her passion for creativity and self-expression.
Reflecting on her journey, Susan emphasized the invaluable lesson that it’s never too late to pursue one’s dreams. Despite facing challenges as a mature student, she embraced the wisdom gained from life experiences, recognizing the power of maturity and resilience in achieving personal and professional goals. Guided by the mantra “quitters never win and winners never quit,” Susan offered sage advice for success in her career field. She encouraged aspiring individuals to dream big and diligently prepare themselves to seize opportunities when they arise. For Susan, success was not merely a matter of chance but the result of meticulous preparation and unwavering determination.
Susan’s philanthropic spirit found expression through her artistic endeavours. She generously donated her paintings and greeting cards to various charitable causes, including Christian Aid and UNIFEM. Notably, she spearheaded an art auction to support Christian Aid’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal, exemplifying her dedication to using art as a catalyst for positive change.
